I Am Nothing7/25/2009

Mother Teresa would say:
“I am nothing
So little, so empty inside,
I am nothing to God, forsaken
But Jesus is everything!
Disguised in the poor and the suffering souls
I must show them the love of God!
They must see Jesus in me
And I must see Jesus in them.
Without suffering, there is no redemption, no love
So I will live the passion with passion
And join my life to Christ.
I will give what God takes and take what God gives
With a big smile.”

St. Paul would say:
“I live not I, but Christ lives in me.
I have been crucified with Christ, I bear his marks.
I only want to know Christ and him crucified.
The cross is the wisdom and power of God.
If I do not love, then I am just a clanging cymbal,
Yet I have not been conformed to this world,
Christ has renewed my mind and I try to have the attitude of Christ. Who did not deem equality with God as something to grasp,
But emptied himself to became a slave, obedient to death
Death on a cross.”

John the Baptist would say:
“Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world: He must increase, I must decrease.”
John the Evangelist would say:
“Let us love one another, because God is love.”
Mary would say:
“My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God, my savior, for the Almighty One has done great things for me.”

I am nothing, God is everything
I am a fool, God is wisdom personified.
I am selfish, God is self-sacrifice.
I am alone, God dwells with his people.
I am proud, God is humble and meek.
I am stubborn, God is patient and stronger than me.
I love God, God loves me.
I want to live, God wants to live through me.
God wants to continue his incarnation through me
I say yes and no at the same time.
God wants to continue his incarnation through his Church,
We act more like lost sheep than shepherds.

Christ Jesus must have an impact on my life
Before my life will have an impact on your life.
It must be everything about Jesus
And nothing about me.
I must step aside and let Christ abide,
Let Jesus live and move and have his being in me,
As I live and move and have my being in him.
And you and I must become one,
As the Father and the Son and the Spirit are One.
Then we can change the world,
Then God can change the world.

When we become nothing
And God becomes everything.
